The Race Car will be used as an integration project during the 2007-2008 school year.  Students will be involved in transforming the race car from its current condition to “race” ready for racing at the local drag strip in the spring.  The project will explore the careers options in preparing a car for professional drag racing.

This project tells about the integration of Reidland High School family & consumer sciences and math students with Paducah ATC carpentry and CAD students to complete a home for a disadvantaged family.  Creation of the model, blueprints, actual house and then measurements for paint, floor covering, and window treatments along with interior design of the home describes this project.

Moonbuggy Project

A moonbuggy had to be built that will seat two students (a boy and a girl) that ride tandem.  The buggy has specific dimensions that it must be and it comes apart and the students are timed when putting it back together to ride.  There is an obstacle course that the students must navigate and different experiments along the way they must perform.  Each team is timed and tested for accuracy during the competition at Murray State and again at the Huntsville Space Center.

The twin towers project is a 100th scale replica of the actual towers. They were built as a memorial to all the lives lost on 911. A school wide integration project and detailed study of the event was conducted through out all the programs of our school, which lead to the actual dedication ceremony of the towers. They stand as a memorial on the front lawn of the Technology Center.

This project will require groups of students to design, build, program, troubleshoot, and test robotic vehicles that will perform assigned tasks in a given operating environment (competition field).  It will require students to use basic principles of mechanical engineering, physics, computer programming, and math.  The audience will be able to see the robots actually move around on their field.
