CORD International was invited to present at the 2004 LAC & EGAT/ED Regional Workshop held in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic in September 2004. The workshop was sponsored by USAID (United States Agency for International Development). USAID officials wanted to learn more about the increasing (almost crucial) need of addressing the challenges of education for the future, especially on technical and workforce education. CORD International, which has built a wide reputation on this area, had the opportunity to show its work on successful standards based curriculum and contextual teaching projects throughout the region. Also CI provided a comprehensive research based overview about education in the Latin American region. For more information on this, please contact Dr. Agustín Navarra (anavarra@cord.org)
