CORD Projects and Activities

Examples of CORD's Work:


  • Academy of Information Technology: An IT career academy for high school students developed in partnership with the National Academy Foundation        
  • Career Cluster Curriculum Development: Tennessee Department of Education project to develop curriculum frameworks for manufacturing, construction, and transportation service career clusters               

  • Optics and Photonics Resources: Highlights the Scientific and Technology Education in Photonics project and the National Center for Optics and Photonics Education (OP-TEC)              


  • National Careers Pathways Network (NCPN) is a membership organization for educators and employers involved in the advancement of Career Pathways, Tech Prep, and related education reform initiatives

  • Community College Presidents Council: A network of two-year college leaders who share a mutual interest in improving teaching and learning opportunities                
  • Teaching Styles Inventory: An online survey instrument designed to examine teachers' affective learning goals for their students and teaching methods used to support their learning goals


  • Career and Technical Education Mathematics Professional Development Program:  Strategic professional development designed to help teachers infuse higher levels of mathematics into career and technical education courses     
  • Texas Collaborative for Teaching Excellence: A statewide professional development delivery system developed by CORD and nine partner community colleges in Texas      
  • Web-based Professional Development Strategies: A report featuring the benefits of online instruction for teacher professional development              

CORD is also involved in education improvement efforts internationally. CORD International provides technical assistance and training for nations undergoing educational reform.
