The Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV) calls upon states to offer “career and technical programs of study (POS).” The Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE), in collaboration with states and national organizations, has formulated a “career and technical programs of study design framework.” The framework consists of ten components of POS design, each of which has several subpoints. Participants will learn about the ten components and how states and local program developers can identify the most pressing components for state and local adoption.
